When you are trying to make positive changes to your career or business, it can be quite lonely if you don't have a support network around you. It can also be hard to keep the motivation going if you do not have someone who can encourage you or hold you accountable.
There may be various reasons why you are not able to take on the services of a coach at this particular moment in time. However, if you are looking for motivation, support and encouragement to help you achieve your career or business aspirations, the following 3 tips will help you find the support that you need.
Who do you know that also wants to make changes in their life that you can team up with? An accountability buddy will do just that, hold you accountable. Agree the frequency in which you will speak (or meet) and use those sessions to update each other on progress that you have made since the last session; agree actions that you will carry out before you next meet and review your progress against what it is that you are trying to achieve.
A mastermind group is a small group of people that come together on a frequent basis to offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills. A mastermind groups helps members to achieve success.
Participants challenge each other to set goals that will help them to achieve their objectives and provide encouragement, support and accountability to enable members to achieve their goals. Everyone gets and gives feedback and support.
As well as having a coach, I am a member of a mastermind group and the support that I get from it is amazing.
If you feel that you would benefit from being in a mastermind group, find a group of other individuals that are aiming to achieve the kinds of changes and success that you are aiming for. It does not have to be people that you know, in fact, I think it is probably better if it is people that you do not know. In my mastermind group, none of us knew each other previously. What is so fantastic about this group is that we all bring something to the table. We all have a variety of skills and experience that we can share to support and encourage each other.

Search social media and the internet to find groups of people that are taking part in challenges that will support you in achieving your aspirations. For example, just before the end of 2013, I set the '30 Day Mind Cleanse', and set up a group for it on Facebook.
Each day for 30 days I posted a challenge. The challenges were designed to help people start 2014 free of the thoughts that were preventing them going for the career or business that they really want. Have a search for groups that are doing challenges that will help to move you closer to what it is that you are trying to achieve.
There are many ways that you can get support to achieve your career or business aspirations. I have listed 3 but there are many more. One such way is the Ladies Business Brainstorming Club which is my monthly networking event with a twist. These monthly events provide motivation, encouragement, support and accountability, whilst developing friendships with an amazing group of women. Additionally, there is a guest speaker each month.
"All I can say is WOW, yesterday was amazing, I'm still smiling, Oge was fantastic. It was a very powerful evening and one which will not be forgotten. Thank you Carol"
The above comment was one of the comments that was posted in the private Facebook group for the Ladies Business Brainstorming Club after last month's event. It sums up just what women are experiencing when they come to this monthly event. If you too want to experience the WOW, come along to the next event on 26th August 2014 . You can register for it here
Please encourage another woman and come along to the event to share how you ensure you get the support to make changes in your career or business.
