Social justice is at the heart of what I do, and I believe that if all women had the confidence to achieve their full potential and the access to opportunities, they would become influencers for positive change in their respective fields. My mission is to help as many women as I can to achieve this.
That is why I have become a UN Women UK delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). This is the largest annual gathering of gender equality advocates in the world, taking place virtually from 6-17 March 2023.
The priority theme for this year's United Nations CSW67 is:
💻 Innovation and technical change
📚 Education in the digital age for achieving gender equality.
👩🏾 The empowerment of all women and girls
Delegates will:
👉🏾 Learn about the key issues impacting women globally and gain crucial insights
👉🏾 Act as representatives in their area of expertise and witness high-level negotiations
👉🏾 Have their voice heard and contribute to the joint learnings of the full delegation
👉🏾 Network with nearly 3,000 other UN Women UK delegates passionate about gender equality.
I attended a CSW event about 8 years ago, through an organisation that has since been disbanded, so it is good to reconnect. I am looking forward to learning and adding my voice. Thank you Akua Opong CITP MBCS for bringing this to my attention.
Although the deadline for applications has passed, if you want to be part of this, you can apply now here, and your application may be considered, but this is not guaranteed.
